The staff at horizons where friendly and helpfully there where there when i need help with anythink dosent matter how small are stuip it was there alwas had pashions with me all the time i could go to them with anythink, there put on course that help me become the person I am now. There support me to move back to my home town and find housing now I am in my flat which I throught I would never be in with out the help of the staff I am so gratefully to have had the opportunity to meet some amazon staff there. I was in very bad place before I move to miller Wallace I was not from blyth so when things went wrong I didn’t now where to turn a good friend put me in touch with miller Wallace where I then moved in to a shared house with 3 others there always had weekly check to make sure you didn’t have problem with money are paying bills, feed yourself and learn you to cook and keep shared house clean some of the course I was doing was on eat heathly as i found that when u was down I used to confirmed eat which put my weight on there had weekly outside activity to try keep you fit and to meet others from other house that was also with miller Wallace , Horizons there always smile and happy to help if any one ever need an help Horizons it be best thing you ever d. thanks to all the staff and wise you and ever one that comes throught your doors for help all the best in your future. In what areas do you provide this service?
We currently offer shared supported accommodation across the Northumberland area. In Northumberland we have properties based in Blyth, Cramlington and Ashington.
How do I get a referral?
Referrals are accepted directly and through other agencies. Referrals consist of a telephone interview, police check and a meeting before any decision is made.
Length of stay
- Minimum stay: 4 weeks
- Maximum stay: None
Who is the project for?
Individuals who need support with issues which have led to a threat of homelessness. These issues may include examples such as a problematic relationship with alcohol, drug dependency or a range of mental health issues.
What is the Support and Accommodation like?
A support worker is allocated to each client , regular one to one support meetings as well as group support interventions covering mental health, managing money and tenancy, health, well being, drugs and alcohol etc. In addition to individual work, much focus is placed around managing and sustaining tenancies.
Rooms and charges
- Total spaces: Clients are expected to contribute £20.00 per week, in addition to their entitlement to the rent being paid through Housing Benefit
Facilities
- Furnishings: Single fully furnished rooms, all bills and broadband included
